Ylöjärvi-based sock manufacturer Sukkamestarit Oy will launch domestic, CE-marked TOEZZ Hockey cut-resistant socks and wrist guards on July 20, 2026. The products, which are at the heart of the hockey safety debate, are manufactured at the company’s own factory in Ylöjärvi. The flagship product of the series, the TOEZZ Platinium Bracer cut-resistant wrist guard, achieved the highest possible A9 protection rating on the official ANSI scale. The products have been developed together with professional players, and several Liiga teams will adopt them in the coming season.
The serious discussion recently held in the world of hockey about severe cut injuries has created a need for a new generation of protective equipment. Sukkamestarit is responding to this call by launching CE-marked TOEZZ Hockey cut-resistant products, whose protection level exceeds the current market offering without compromising players’ performance or ice feel.

Maximum A9- and A7-level cut protection for the ice
The TOEZZ Hockey range stands out with its exceptionally high and certified protection ratings:
· TOEZZ Platinium Bracer cut-resistant wrist guards (ANSI A9): The highest possible protection rating on the market protects the wrist area from extreme cuts. The ANSI A9 class corresponds to a cut force of over 6 kilograms in tests. The seamless, sock-like wrist guards have been developed in collaboration with dozens of Finnish top players. The material is silky soft, flexible, and breathable.
· TOEZZ Platinium A7 cut-resistant socks (ANSI A7) : The soft cut-resistant structure surrounding the sock shaft provides very strong protection for the calves and shins, withstanding a cutting force of approximately 4–5 kilograms. The socks are optimized in fit to maximize skate feel and ice feel. The foot section is made of moisture-repellent Quick-Dry polyester and polyamide that improves abrasion resistance. The sock has an arch compression feature as well as a seamless toe that prevents chafing.
Domestic innovation from Liiga rinks to junior leagues
Product testing and development have been carried out in close cooperation with Finnish professional players, which ensures the flexibility, comfort, and functionality of the equipment at all the sport's most demanding levels. Wristbands and socks suitable for year-round training are manufactured in both adult and children's sizes, which enables the same top-level protection for all age groups from professionals to juniors.
