Even in the Arctic socks trusted by Danes, the toe and heel sections are a different color from the base color. At the cuff, the Uphill Arctic text is knitted on the outside of the leg portion.

The most notable feature of the socks is their full merino wool terry structure and knee length. It is often thought that frost chills the feet only from the ground and that extra warmth or thickness is needed only in the sole area of the sock. In reality, cold reaches the feet just as much from elsewhere too, and the Arctic socks have been designed for these freezing conditions. The shaped heel improves the fit, and the strong lycra knit לאורך the entire length of the sock shaft evens out the pressure felt by the foot.

With these socks, you can head to conquer even the North Pole or go on a midwinter hike in Utsjoki, and your feet will stay warm! However, to get the best benefit and warmth from the Arctic socks, it is extremely important to wear proper merino wool liner socks underneath.

Merino wool is a highly breathable material that prevents feet from sweating and helps keep them dry. The antibacterial merino wool also prevents odors from forming if the foot does sweat from time to time during use. Polyamide has been added to the socks for extra durability.

With Arctic socks, you can enjoy the outdoors in biting frost when paired with proper winter boots or roomy hiking shoes that have enough space for thick socks and still room for air to circulate.

This product is also made at Sukkamestarit’s own factory in Ylöjärvi with 100% Finnish workmanship.

Care instructions:

we recommend pre-washing merino wool socks before use
for merino wool socks, airing is often sufficient
careful washing at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius
use as light a spin as possible
the use of a wash bag saves wear and tear on the product
do not use detergents containing rinsing agents or bleaching agents
do not use a tumble dryer or drying programmes
please note that merino wool socks will shrink in the wash, please shape/stretch the socks while damp to restore the original size
use a lint remover - merino wool socks are easily linted by rubbing

Wool is a warm and breathable material. Sheep wool has excellent performance characteristics, as it breathes and insulates heat well. Self-renewing and biodegradable, natural fibre absorbs moisture well, does not wrinkle and straightens quickly. For wool products, airing rather than washing is sometimes sufficient. Wool is naturally fire-retardant, highly resistant to bacteria and mould.
