Description

The Danish Defence Forces have chosen the Arctics sock as part of their outdoor equipment for cold conditions.

This calf-length, thick, fully merino wool terry sock is designed to fight the cold and keep your feet warm all day. The anatomically knitted heel improves fit, and the strong elastane knit throughout the leg of the sock evens out pressure on the foot.

With these socks, you can set out to conquer even the North Pole or go on a midwinter trek to Utsjoki, and your feet will stay warm! However, it is of utmost importance to wear proper merino wool liner socks with the Arctics socks in order to get the best benefit and warmth out of them. For example, choose the Contact-liner sock selected by the Defence Forces as a companion.

Merino wool is a very breathable material that prevents feet from sweating and helps keep them dry. The antibacterial merino wool also prevents odors from forming, even if your feet sweat from time to time during use. Polyamide has been added to the socks to increase durability.

With Arctics socks, outdoor activities are enjoyable even in biting cold, especially when paired with proper winter boots or roomy hiking shoes that have enough space for thick socks and still allow air to circulate.

This product is also made at Sukkamestarit’s own factory in Ylöjärvi with 100% Finnish workmanship.

Care instructions:

we recommend pre-washing merino wool socks before use
for marine socks, airing alone is often sufficient
careful washing at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius
use as light a spin as possible
the use of a wash bag saves wear and tear on the product
do not use detergents containing rinsing agents or bleaching agents
do not use a tumble dryer or drying programmes
please note that merino wool socks will shrink in the wash, please shape/stretch the socks while damp to restore the original size
use a lint remover - merino wool socks are easily linted by rubbing

Merino wool NATIVA™

Wool is a warm and breathable material. Sheep wool has excellent performance characteristics, as it breathes and insulates heat well. Self-renewing and biodegradable, natural fibre absorbs moisture well, does not wrinkle and straightens quickly. For wool products, airing rather than washing is sometimes sufficient. Wool is naturally fire-retardant, highly resistant to bacteria and mould.
