The Danish Armed Forces have chosen the Arctics sock as part of their outdoor equipment for cold conditions.

This knee-length, thick, all-over merino wool sock is designed to fight the cold and keep your feet warm all day. The knitted heel improves the fit and the strong elastane knit along the entire length of the sock's shaft helps to even out the pressure on the foot.

With these socks, you can go conquering, even to the North Pole or Utsjoki for a mid-winter hike, and your feet will stay warm! However, it's vital to wear appropriate merino wool underwear with your Arctics socks to get the most out of them and keep warm. Choose a pair of socks such as the Contact-liner socks chosen by the armed forces.

Merino wool is a highly breathable material that prevents your feet from sweating and helps keep them dry. Antibacterial merino wool also prevents odours if your feet do sweat from time to time during use. Polyamide has been added to the socks for extra durability.

Arctics socks are a pleasure to wear outdoors in biting frosts, when paired with a good pair of winter boots or hiking boots with plenty of room for thick socks, and room for air to circulate.

This product is also made in Sukkamestare's own factory in Ylöjärvi with 100% Finnish labour.

Care instructions:

we recommend pre-washing merino wool socks before use
for marine socks, airing alone is often sufficient
careful washing at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius
use as light a spin as possible
the use of a wash bag saves wear and tear on the product
do not use detergents containing rinsing agents or bleaching agents
do not use a tumble dryer or drying programmes
please note that merino wool socks will shrink in the wash, please shape/stretch the socks while damp to restore the original size
use a lint remover - merino wool socks are easily linted by rubbing

Merino wool NATIVA™

Wool is a warm and breathable material. Sheep wool has excellent performance characteristics, as it breathes and insulates heat well. Self-renewing and biodegradable, natural fibre absorbs moisture well, does not wrinkle and straightens quickly. For wool products, airing rather than washing is sometimes sufficient. Wool is naturally fire-retardant, highly resistant to bacteria and mould.
