Sukkamestarit won the tender of the Danish Defence Forces, as a result of which the Danish soldier will in future wear Finnish-made merino wool socks. In the competition, the products were thoroughly tested for six weeks in garrisons. The sockmasters' merino wool socks were a clear winner in both laboratory tests and field conditions, with a quality score of 4.46 out of 5!
The collection includes three key products:
Ordinary - A multi-purpose sock with a multi-layer construction, best suited for long walks or active training outdoors. Combine the sock with a maihar or goretex shoe.
Arctics - thick merino wool sock for particularly cold conditions. The full-length merino wool sock creates air space in the shoe and keeps your feet warm. Wear the sock with loose boot-style footwear combined with a liner sock.
Contact liner - a thin marine liner for use in cold weather under a thick sock to smooth out chafing and prevent blisters, and provide extra warmth. In warmer conditions, the liner sock can be used as such in a lightweight shoe.
