There are too many options, how do I find the right product?

In this category you can use filters by colour, size, material and feature. You can also choose the order of the product view by price or by cropping the latest products.
How do I choose the right size?
You should choose the size according to the size of the shoe you are wearing. If your size falls between two sizes, we recommend taking a smaller size for technical and wool socks and a larger size for socks. All the socks we make are designed for the Finnish foot and are more fairly sized than many foreign socks. The size of the sock is also influenced by the material combination and the elasticity of the sock.
The size of the socks at "rest" can vary greatly, even if they are of the same size. The size is influenced by the materials, construction and flexibility of the sock. However, socks of the same size have the same elongation, i.e. they will stretch to the same size, even if they are different when unstretched. So there is no need to worry about the size difference, but if the sock feels the wrong size on your foot, you should check the inside of the sock arm to make sure that the size number on the label is the same.
Please note that merino wool products are not pre-washed. Therefore, we recommend washing the product before use to ensure that the sock fits the correct size and shape.
I ordered socks of the same size, but different. Why is there a difference of up to several centimetres in length between the socks? Is there a mistake?

In addition, it is recommended that you wash your wool socks and ski socks at least once first to ensure that they fit the right size and shape.
How often should I wash my socks?
Sock washing is very individual and depends a lot on the type of footwear and the natural perspiration of the foot. The choice of material also affects the need for washing. Merino wool socks do not need to be washed after every use, ventilation is often sufficient.
Why don't you have any 100% wool socks in your range?
Unfortunately, a sock made entirely of pure wool would not be long-lasting, as the abrasion and wear resistance of wool alone is poor.
Socks are subjected to heavy wear and tear, which is why a synthetic fibre such as polyamide is usually added to the sock to give it durability. The wools we use also have 20% polyamide already in the wool to make the yarn more durable.

What is the average life of a sock?
The life of a sock is difficult to determine as it depends on many individual factors such as the purpose of use, the materials and construction of the sock. For example, alpaca wool socks have a very short life span in everyday use, due to the low abrasion and wear resistance of alpaca wool. It is therefore best suited for use as a sleep and wear sock. In contrast, socks with more synthetic fibres or, for example, a multi-layered construction can last for years in excellent condition.
Even so, it is not possible to draw any precise line as to which material will last a certain amount of time for each person and which will not. For example, the shoes worn with socks, the roughness of the soles of the feet, the fit of the sock and the surfaces on which the socks are walked on all contribute to the durability and lifespan of the sock.
You can find out more about materials in the materials info section of our online shop. We have also tried to describe the characteristics and construction of the product as accurately and comprehensively as possible on our product pages.
