Vinkkejä sukan valintaan

How to choose the best socks for your child?

Miten valita parhaat sukat lapselle?

Even in the choice of children's socks, the job starts with the intended use and, consequently, the material.

It is often thought that socks are just "socks" and sock choices in everyday life are of little importance. However, socks contain surprisingly many features that have a direct connection to the well -being and comfort of the feet. We listed the most important things to you to pay attention to when making children's socks:

1. Material selection according to the purpose

The choice of material is very important and mostly appears to be a sock in different situations. In the basic set and in different activities merino It is a great option throughout the year as it is a breathable, heat -leveling and regulating, and moisture -transplant material. Because children's toes are often leather, breathability and moisture transmission play a bigger role. Merino wool also has a soft, irregular and naturally antibacterial, which helps keep your feet fresh and comfortable. In thin merino wool socks you will find a lot of socks you will find a lot of options from textured socks to stripes, and monochrome.

Technical fibers are particularly suitable for sports and active movement, as they are often lightweight, breathable and quickly drying. In addition, technical socks have been developed to withstand future mechanical rubbing in sports.

    2. Right size

The socks must not be too large and not too small. Too large socks can wrinkle in the shoe and cause rubbing, while too small socks squeeze and prevent blood circulation. Well -fitting socks stay in place and prevent abrasions. Check that the socks sit firmly around the foot but do not tighten. The depressions on the foot are a sign that the socks are too tight.

In socks in socks for merino wool socks, we recommend deploying washing so that the socks reach their final shape and size. Merino wool also softens in the first wash. It is advisable to stretch the socks firmly when wet.

      3. The right sock according to the shoe

Depending on the purpose, the socks may have more than the properties of the material. For example, with a multi -layer structure, we are able to create the properties that mimic layer dressing in the sock. The layers are shaped using different materials to provide their best features; heating, moisture transmission and evaporation, and the outermost as an additional heat, in the case of 4-layer socks. In addition, socks may have a seamless tip, a terry base with wool or a special Y-heel head that guarantees a particularly good fit.

It is a good idea to choose the calorific value and thickness according to the purpose and season. In summer, thin and breathable socks are sufficient, while in winter thicker and warmer socks are necessary. The socks should also be chosen according to the shoe. For example, sneakers or intermediate shoes are well suited to light marine socks, while thicker socks can be selected for winter boots / rubber boots. As a rule of thumb, you can consider; The looser the shoe, the thicker the sock, the lighter the shoe the thinner the sock.

        4. Dry and suitably warm legs

Breathability and humidity management are particularly important for active children. Well -breathing socks help keep your feet dry and comfortable as they prevent sweating and unpleasant odors, remove moisture from the skin and warm up in the appropriate way.

Damp legs are always more susceptible to abrasions and cold. In cold conditions, layering is a good trick to keep the children's feet dry and warm. Put a thin merino wool sock underneath and on a thicker wool or merino wool sock. This gimmick used by hikers is based on sufficient airspace, and the ability of the sock closest to the skin to move moisture away from the skin and heat the feet. Do not choose socks to the nearest skin that binds moisture, such as cotton. When the moisture does not move away from the skin, the cold begins to creep into the surface of the damp skin.
