Description

Knitted with a 4-layer construction, these socks make the most of the properties of all materials. Thick and snug-fitting, these socks are a great choice for challenging conditions and long hikes where a lot is demanded of them. The discreet toe seam prevents blisters and chafing on the foot, and increases the comfort of the socks. The recycled materials used also make these socks a responsible and ecological choice.

The lightweight drawstring on the foot makes the socks more comfortable to wear and keeps them in place better. The flexible, ankle-length shank does not cause a nasty pinching sensation on the foot. The 4-layer construction of the foot sock is made up of an inner and outer layer of merino wool, with intermediate layers of polypropylene and recycled materials. The layered structure has been used to make the socks functional and technical.

Hetta socks are great hiking socks that can be used on their own or with a base layer when extra warmth is needed. The base length of the shaft makes them versatile for use with longer-legged shoes and they also provide good warmth in cooler weather.

Merino wool makes the socks warm and breathable. Because merino wool is naturally antibacterial, the socks won't start to smell even on longer hikes. Polypropylene effectively transfers moisture from the skin to the outer layers of the sock, helping to keep your feet dry and comfortable.

Hetta socks are at their best in hiking and outdoor shoes, where there is enough air between the sock and the shoe to allow the socks to perform as designed. You can also choose socks for winter snow boots or winter shoes, so the cold doesn't get to your ankles and calves.

This product is also made in Sukkamestare's own factory in Ylöjärvi with 100% Finnish labour.

Care instructions:

we recommend pre-washing merino wool socks before use
for marine socks, airing alone is often sufficient
careful washing at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius
use as light a spin as possible
the use of a wash bag saves wear and tear on the product
do not use detergents containing rinsing agents or bleaching agents
do not use a tumble dryer or drying programmes
please note that merino wool socks will shrink in the wash, please shape/stretch the socks while damp to restore the original size
use a lint remover - merino wool socks are easily linted by rubbing

Merino wool NATIVA™

Wool is a warm and breathable material. Sheep wool has excellent performance characteristics, as it breathes and insulates heat well. Self-renewing and biodegradable, natural fibre absorbs moisture well, does not wrinkle and straightens quickly. For wool products, airing rather than washing is sometimes sufficient. Wool is naturally fire-retardant, highly resistant to bacteria and mould.
