Multi-layer socks are made using a layering technique developed by Sukkamestare, where different materials can be knitted into their own layers to make the most of the properties of each material. One of our most famous multi-cross socks is Sweat socks.
A layered structure is formed by a combination of 2-4 materials. You can compare this to the result you are looking for in layering.
The role of the first layer is to breathe and wick moisture away from the skin, as damp skin is always susceptible to cold. Typically, this first layer is polypropylene.
The second layer's role is to control moisture and provide warmth. Often we use NATIVA marine wool, cotton or bamboo for this layer, depending on the intended use of the sock.
The third layer adds durability and flexibility to the sock, which is achieved by using polyamide. Thanks to the polyamide, the colours of the sock remain fresh.
An optional fourth layer provides additional warmth to the cold coming from below.
Multi-layer socks are an excellent choice for outdoor activities and sports. These socks will keep you going for longer!
